Kandi J Wyatt learned how to read and write Spanish in high school, but when she moved to Ecuador for a year, she learned how to speak and listen to Spanish. When she returned to Ecuador three years later with her knight in shining armor, a two-year-old, and a three-month old, she gained a whole new set of vocabulary words. Years later, she went to Guanajuato, Mexico, on an exchange program between La Universidad de Guanajuato and Southern Oregon University. She keeps her Spanish fresh by teaching junior high and high school students how to write, read, speak, and listen. On the ACTFL proficiency scale she’s Intermediate Mid.
