5 ways to bring games into the classroom

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on April 18, 2016 by Kandi J WyattApril 18, 2016

Games are a fun way to learn something new. There is a game called Pyramid in the pack. To play pyramid, you have to collect cards that equal thirteen. Suddenly, I was doing math. I was memorizing that 9 and 4, 8 and 5, 3 and 10, and 6 and 7 all make thirteen. These numbers are now drilled into my head. Did I have to work hard to memorize them? Not really. The game taught me to look for those combinations.

Spring Fling Hop Giveaway

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on April 14, 2016 by Kandi J WyattApril 14, 2016

Love is one of those emotions that everyone has differences of opinions on. The ideas are as varying as the ages of the people who define it. Ask a child and he or she will define love based on what they can receive from someone. They get the gift they’ve been dreaming of for the last several hours or days, and suddenly they love the person who gave it to them and that person loves them.

My Obsession with Tea and a Free Recipe

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on April 13, 2016 by Kandi J WyattApril 13, 2016

As you’ve seen from previous posts, I love tea. Tea has been a mainstay since my teen years at least. Mom loved to plan tea parties. When we were in high school, she would often greet my sister and me after school with a cup of tea and some treat and we’d chat about our day with her.

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on April 8, 2016 by Kandi J WyattApril 8, 2016

In the process of wading into the world of publishing books, I’ve made many friends. The release of Dragon’s Revenge is proof of that. The amount of people who shared overwhelmed me. So, today, I am giving back. Heather Sutherlin shared about Dragon’s Revenge on her blog on Wednesday. Today, I am featuring her new release, A Familiar Darkness, which released on Tuesday. I hope you enjoy.

How to Connect with Your Teen and Pre-Teen

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on April 3, 2016 by Kandi J WyattApril 3, 2016

As parents, we wonder how to stay in touch with our kids as they grow older. When our children are young, we do everything with and for them, but as they mature and develop, they begin to move out on their own. It begins with friends; then their preferences change. Trying to keep up with them can be work. If we aren’t careful, we’ll wake up one day and not know what our son’s favorite color is or what our daughter’s favorite music is.

How to Transfer an Image for Drawing

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on March 30, 2016 by Kandi J WyattMarch 30, 2016

I thought I’d give you a glimpse of how to easily transfer an image to your drawing space. It will produce a simple line-art guide for you to use to create any drawing. I use it mainly for portraits of either people or animals, but it could be used for anything. I’ve used it for flowers even.

A Unique Look at Holy Week part 7

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on March 27, 2016 by Kandi J WyattNovember 26, 2016

The last several days had been a blur for Achim. After the hours spent at the foot of the cross and watching as Yeshua breathed his last breath, Yochanan had escorted Achim along with Mariam and the other women back to what he called the “upper room”. From what Achim could gather it was where Yeshua had held the seder. Yochanan had showed Achim to a mat, and the boy had gratefully collapsed on to it. On the first day of the week, Achim awoke to shouts.

A Unique Look at Holy Week part 6

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on March 26, 2016 by Kandi J WyattMarch 26, 2016

“We thought the world of him, but we weren’t sure who he was. It wasn’t until the last year or so that we began to believe, truly hope, that he was the promised one. We saw the miracles, the people healed, the blind given sight, the dead brought back to life. It was unbelievable, and yet it was real. What was even more so was the way he treated everyone. He had utmost compassion. His tears were never for himself, but for others.”

A Unique Look at Holy Week part 5

Author Kandi J Wyatt Posted on March 25, 2016 by Kandi J WyattMarch 25, 2016

They waited in the shadows, sometimes talking, sometimes silent. Before too long, voices rose above the walls of the fortress, angry and demanding. Achim looked at Yochanan. What was going on? He wondered. Yochanan just shrugged. The front gate lumbered open. Achim watched as a man walked out with a bowed head. His steps indicated extreme exhaustion. The moon, which had been dancing with the clouds, shone full on him as Roman soldiers took his arms to direct him down the street. It was Yeshua! Where were they taking him now?
