Living on the Southern Oregon Coast provides a wonderous backdrop for photography. From Bandon’s seastacks to the mountains, there’s always something to capture.
Photography-themed bio
Kandi J Wyatt’s knight in shining armor always loved photography. He bought his first camera when he graduated from high school. Kandi had a cheap point and shoot when she went to Ecuador. Her photography teacher showed her how to take images, but she was limited with her camera.
In 2010, she encouraged her knight to purchase a DSLR. After much research, he decided on a Nikon. What was supposed to be a hobby for him, turned into a family project, when by 2014, Kandi had her own DSLR, and each of the kids had their own cameras of various kinds and most of them attended a free photography class.
The next year, Kandi tagged along as her knight had a photography workshop in the Olympic Peninsula. Her thought was she’d get a weekend to write and draw, but instead there was only one other participant, so the teacher invited Kandi to tag along. She was able to take some of her first star images and watched as her knight realized his true calling—not for landscape but portraits taken in God’s beautiful creation.
Since then, she’s become the “light stand with legs” and photographer’s assistant to Photography by Eric Wyatt. Which means that her images have been placed in wedding albums and her quiet personality helps settle nerves as clients come in for their portrait sessions.
Where to see her images
Most of Kandi’s photos reside on her phone, but she does share them via Instagram. Kandi has also taught several classes of photography.
